Case Study

Transforming Warehouse Capacity without Breaking the Budget

Client

A valued 3PL Customer

Location

Sittingbourne, Kent, UK

Client Requirements

Existing Racking Obsolete and very expensive to repair.

Bay configuration based on 2 x standard 1000mm x 1200mm pallets.

New contract required the storage of 4500 off 800mm x 1200mm Euro pallets.

Our Solution

Take down half of the existing racking nominally 3000 pallet spaces and use good materials to effect repairs to the remaining half.

Install a new pallet racking system to store 4500 pallet spaces 800mm x 1200mm using 3600mm bays (4 pallets wide).

The End Result

  • We have managed to effect repairs on an obsolete racking system allowing the client to extend the useable life of that racking.
  • We redesigned the other half of the warehouse to be optimised for Euro pallets whilst at the same time minimising wasted space should the contract return to standard pallets in the future.
  • Optimised the cube of the warehouse based on client’s working patterns. (cube = total three-dimensional storage capacity)
  • Minimised client’s capital costs.
  • Minimised client’s revenue spend on maintenance.

Your space deserves more. Let’s make it work smarter.
