Drive-in
Maximise cubic capacity for bulk lines. Drive-in racking creates high-density lanes where lift trucks enter the rack to place pallets on runner rails, ideal for large volumes of the same SKU, seasonal stock and coldstores.
What it is
A lane-based system of uprights and pallet runners that stores multiple pallets deep and high (up to ~11m). By reducing the number of aisles, it delivers significantly higher storage density than selective racking.
Operational setup
Drive-in operates on a LIFO basis (first in, last out). Operators drive into the lane to deposit or retrieve pallets; guide rails and protectors help minimise impact and speed handling. Best suited to bulk receipt and dispatch where strict FIFO isn’t required. In coldstores, higher density can reduce energy costs per pallet.
