Standard pallet racking can be grouped into four main categories:
Wide Aisle; Very Narrow Aisle; Double Deep and Drive-in.
Wide Aisle Pallet Racking Systems
Wide Aisle Pallet Racking is a highly adaptable system of upright frames and horizontal beams. Available in a wide range of sizes and duties, it can be easily configured to meet your specific volume, weight and handling requirements.
Wide Aisle Pallet Racking can support pallets of goods; be used as heavy duty shelving; or, with accessories, support other unit loads such as coils, drums or carpets.
Very Narrow Aisle Pallet Racking
Very Narrow Aisle Pallet Racking works on the same principle as Wide Aisle Pallet Racking, i.e. adaptable frames and beams. However, it does offer greatly improved space utilisation by significantly reducing the width of the aisles and increasing the height of the frames whilst still retaining the ability to retrieve stock at all levels.
Specialist trucks will be required to access the racking along with truck guidance systems which will improve safety and minimise accidental damage to your racking structure.
Double Deep Racking Systems
Double Deep Pallet Racking allows you to store pallets two deep. This means the number of aisles needed is reduced and a much greater storage density can be achieved.
Double Deep Pallet Racking is the ideal system for storing large bulk numbers of limited stock ranges. You will need trucks with specialist attachments in order to access this type of racking. Call us on 0800 240 5018 to discuss the best solution for your business.
Drive-In Pallet Racking
Drive-in Pallet Racking - a system of vertical upright frames and horizontal support rails. This allows pallets to be supported vertically and in multiple depths. The support rails allow forklift trucks to enter the rack and so create a high density space efficient bulk storage system.
Drive-in works on a first pallet in, last pallet out system so it's ideal for storing seasonal ranges where large quantities of limited stock items are held. No specialist handling equipment is required.

Carpet Racking
Specifically designed to efficiently and safely store rolls of carpet and fabric this racking has the versatility and accessibility of Wide Aisle Racking. Beam and Frame Sizes
For most of the pallet racking solutions above beams range from 1150mm up to 3900mm in length. The most popular sizes are generally 2250mm and 2700mm as they allow two standard pallets to be carried.
